April - May '14

We didn't do a whole lot in the month of April and the first half of May. I took my mft exam (like the bar exam for therapists) on May 19th, so I spent most of that time studying for it. I won't know if I passed it until mid-July. We're keeping our fingers crossed because if I didn't pass, I can't work for about another 9 months. I'm pretty sure I passed though, so hopefully my gut is right :)

At the end of April, I took a day off from studying and pulled Beth out of school for a lunch date with Jojo. We love lunch dates with Jojo! We went to our favorite lunch-date-with-Jojo location, Central Market.

About a week into May, I took another break from studying and went on a date with Rob. We had bought a groupon for a shooting range nearby and it was about to expire. I have only gone shooting two other times, one of which was seventeen years ago just after we got married. I think I did pretty well considering :) Granted it was only at 5 yards, but give me some time and I'll work up to longer distances.

The week of my birthday was the week before I took my test. By then my brain was mush and I was passing every practice test I took, so I eased up on the studying. On Tuesday, Betsy and I went out and got mani/pedis, then had dinner at Cheddar's. That was the first time I've had nail polish on my fingernails since May 2008. It lasted about 4 days, which was several days longer than I expected it to last.

On Thursday, Christy and I went out to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory with Laura and Eva to celebrate our shared birthday.

I worked Thursday night, then took Friday off. Rob took the day off work and let me sleep in, then Jojo took me out to lunch at Trufire. After lunch, Jojo took me on a shopping spree and bought me several outfits for work and a pair of super cute shoes. It was a wonderful ending to the best birthday week ever!
