My Kids Rock

Today was an awesome day :) The girls were all awake when I went to wake them up for school. Beth was playing with Eva in her crib and they were sitting there laughing together. Everyone got ready without complaining and no one fought over seats in the car on the way to school. Jack and Eva happily watched shows on the Roku while I took a nap (Eva joined me for most of it) and ate their popcorn and drank their apple juice. They got a bit feisty after I woke up, so we ate lunch, then walked to the park. Eva decided she wanted to swing. I put her in the baby swing and started pushing her and she started glowering. Thinking she wanted to do something else, I stopped the swing to take her out. She threw a fit, so I started pushing her again. She yelled "WHEEEE!" with a huge grin on her face, then went back to glowering again. Every time I would stop, she'd repeat her behavior. It was hilarious to watch the glower turn into a grin out of nowhere then back to a glower again. She stayed in the swings the whole 45 minutes we were there. After the park, we walked to school to pick up the older girls. On the way home, Betsy pulled me aside so she could tell me a story about Kylie. Kylie spent Friday night with Caitlin to celebrate Caitlin's birthday. They went to build a bear (and Kylie even got a stuffed animal too!) and had a sleep over. While at build a bear, Kylie picked a koala because Megan likes koalas and "Megan doesn't get to do fun stuff like this with her friends" so Kylie wanted to get a stuffed animal she would like. She also got to pick out a koala webkins, which she gave to Jack when she got home because Jack doesn't have a webkins. The kids played nicely together all afternoon. Megan, Kylie and Jack, who are currently obsessed with a computer game called Poptropica, played together on the computer. Beth and Eva played together outside. When I asked them to stop what they were doing to clean up so the house would be clean when Rob got home, they all jumped up immediately (I didn't even have to ask twice!) and cleaned the downstairs. My kids are amazing :) I love days like today! We're celebrating by having freshly baked cherry turnovers :)
