The past two weeks have been so full of fun things that I forgot to include a few of them in my other posts. I was afraid this Christmas would be really hard, but it was filled with wonderful moments. Beth had her last ballet class the Monday before Christmas. We got a huge rainstorm that day that hit just as we were driving her to class. You know it's a Texas rainstorm when it's raining so hard that there is standing water on the top of the hill :) It let up just as we headed home and we spotted a beautiful double rainbow!
I have never seen a rainbow at sunset before, but here's the view out the other side of our car ~
I also forgot to include my afternoon with Allison. The Tuesday after Christmas, Kate and Becca watched the kids so I could spend some time with Allison, who was visiting for Christmas. We started off by stopping off at Pei Wei for lunch. The restaurant was packed, so we decided to get our orders to go. I think they forgot to place our order as it took a while for it to come up. We didn't mind and enjoyed talking to each other. Because it took so long, they gave us both gift cards :)
We took our food out to a hill by some townhouses. The temperatures were in the 60's and the weather was absolutely gorgeous. We sat and ate and talked for about an hour. It was the perfect afternoon - until Allison noticed a spider on my leg. I looked down and discovered it was a black widow. Fun! Allison knocked it off with her shoe and squashed it as I jumped away. We decided it was time to leave. And for some reason, I decided not to take the kids there for a picnic another day as I had been planning to do. Pedicures were the next stop and this time both of us opted to get ones that included hot stone massages and reflexology. It was wonderful!
