Announcing . . .

Baby #6 is due on Sept 22nd!!! We are so excited!

A couple of answers to question I know we'll get asked ~

1. Yes, this pregnancy was planned. Our first four kids are so close together and Jack will be in school next year. We wanted Eva to have a sibling close in age as well.

2. No, we do not expect to have a repeat of the problems we had with Eva's pregnancy. Usually women have about a 12% chance of having something like that happen. Since I had 4 healthy pregnancies prior to Eva's, my chances of having it happen again are only slightly elevated - they are now at 16%. My dr is keeping a close eye on me (yay for lots of chances to see our little bean!) and put me on progesterone two weeks ago. Low progesterone in the first trimester is suspected to be a factor in preterm labor, and I was on progesterone with Jack, but not with Eva, so we're hoping that was it. If it happens though, we'll handle it :) Eva is worth everything we went though!

3. Obviously, we are postponing my residencies until 18 months from now rather than 6 months from now. No big deal :) I only have 3 classes left after this quarter, but I have 4 more classes to finish my minor (addictive behaviors), so it will work out perfectly!

4. Yes, we have names picked out. Laura Alice if it's a girl (after one of my very best and oldest friends, and after Rob's best friend's mother) or Daniel Giovanni (after Rob's great, great, great grandfather and my grandfather) if it's a boy.

5. And yes, we were going to wait to tell people until we got through the 1st trimester. Apparently though, you start showing with number 6 at conception. Plus Megan (and Beth) already noticed that I've been nauseous and it was only a matter of time before they put two and two together, so we decided to tell the kiddos. And once we have told them, we might as well put it over our house in neon letters.

Wow.... didn't take you long to catch up to us. That's awesome! And our sixth will be turning 1 when your's is to arrive. I pray that you have a happy healthy and realitively uneventful pregancy. It's kicking my trash right now, but I also had a near 4 1/2 year gap since my last baby. You'll be a little more seasoned for it then myself.
