Ice, Snow and the Superbowl

We had fun in the snow on Friday. There were only a few inches, so I told Megan that I didn't think there enough to make a snowman. She decided she'd make it work. Rob suited up and went out to help her. Kylie and Jack helped out as well, but Beth decided she'd had enough of the cold and headed inside to hang out with me and Eva. They managed to make a pretty good sized snowman, but I forgot to take a photo of it.

While I was making dinner, I put Eva in her high chair for the first time. She looks so small! She wasn't quite sure what to make of it, but I think she enjoyed being able to see me while I cooked.

Kiki braved the roads on Friday and came over for dinner. She stopped by the grocery store and grabbed milk for us too :)

The sun came out on Saturday and it warmed up to a balmy 45! Fortunately almost all of the ice and snow melted off the roads (note to self - next time you buy a house, make sure the driveway is on the South side!). Rob and I packed all five kids into the car (we were all a little sick of being trapped in the house) and headed to Costco. We are now prepared if the storm they're predicting for this week is as bad as the one last week was :)

We aren't big sports fans. We are, of course, Red Sox fans, but other than that (and disliking NY teams, which comes with being a Red Sox fan), we really couldn't care less about sports. We love Superbowl Sunday though :) We always make a "picnic" to take upstairs and eat in the living room. This year we decided on a veggie tray, a bowl of fresh fruit, avocado hummus with pita chips, and mini all natural andouille sausages. Megan decided she wanted to make a "football cake". I didn't have a football shaped pan, so we decided to make a football field instead. We didn't have any cake mix, so we made it from scratch. It turned out really well! :)
