To Clarify . . .

After having been told by several people that they were told I “fired” my mother, I would like to clarify something. I did not “fire” my mother from helping us out. She told me that she was upset by my parenting choices, the shows I was watching on TV, the movies I watch, and the clothes I let my children wear, among other things. I told her that as I am now an adult, living in my own house, Rob and I were going to continue to make the choices we felt were best for our family. We would love to maintain a relationship with her; however we were not going to change our choices merely because she disagreed with them. She told me if I did not choose to change my choices, that she was no longer comfortable helping out and left.
