Our theme this year ended up being Despicable Me 2 (which neither Rob nor I have actually seen). I don't remember how we ended up with that choice, but the kids had a lot of fun. Ok, most of the kids had a lot of fun. Eva and Laura did not like dressing up and hated their outfits. They did, however, enjoy the candy, so maybe it was a draw.
Originally Jack was going to be Gru, but he decided last week that he would rather be the purple minion, so Rob was Gru. I was Lucy (the lipstick taser lady), Megan, Kylie, and Beth were Margo, Edith, and Agnes respectively, and Eva and Laura were yellow minions.
We don't go trick-or-treating usually; we go to our church's trunk-or-treat instead. This year it happened to be on the 30th. I had to work that afternoon, so Rob and Brittney got the kids ready to go and the second I pulled in the driveway, we loaded up and took off.
Brittney took pictures of us before anyone ate anything or did any activities that might conceivably ruin costumes.
The kids had a wonderful time and we came home with lots of candy. We let them eat as much as they wanted in the car on the way home, then confiscated it when they walked in the door.
I had to work Halloween night too, so they hung out with Rob and watched the traditional Charlie Brown "Great Pumpkin" special on tv. We opted out of jack-o-lanterns this year and planned to decorate milk jugs instead, but didn't get around to it yet. Maybe we'll do it this weekend :)
