Rob ended up getting to stay home and see the kids off as my heart acted up majorly on Monday night/Tuesday morning. I was able to get up and braid Beth's hair and give them kisses, but that was about it. Thank heavens Rob works for a company that allows him to stay home when he absolutely needs to. Brittney gets here tomorrow, so starting next week, I should be able to rest more and maybe start getting better again.
We let each of the kids pick out their own back to school outfit. As always, they each got a new backpack and new school shoes as well. Jack picked a Tony Hawk shirt. Those are his favorites. Beth needed a purple dress. Kylie wanted something casual and fun, so she picked an owl shirt, gray capris, and completed her ensemble with neon knee socks and bright blue sneakers.
We attempted a silly picture where the kids were supposed to act upset that they were going back to school. Beth beamed through the whole thing. She was too excited about school to even pretend to be upset.
Walking like little ducklings behind Daddy :) Middle school doesn't start until 90 minutes after elementary school here, so Megan was able to stay home with Laura and Eva while Daddy walked the other kids to school.
Megan all ready for her first day, looking gorgeous and way too grown up.We couldn't find her clear lip gloss, so she got to wear light pink lip gloss just for that day. She carefully picked out her outfit. The jeans are soft, with glittery butterflies on the back pockets. I don't think she planned for her shirt to match her pink Vans, but it worked out well! Chartreuse nail polish completed her ensemble and also helped the outfit to more closely match her backpack, which has splots of bright pink and green.
Since middle school starts so much later, there was lots of time for Eva to snuggle with Daddy before they took Megan to school.
Getting ready to walk!
Laura was excited to discover that Kylie and Beth left the door to their room open. She took full advantage of the opportunity . . .
And loved every second of it!
