Jack's Trip to the Zoo

Every year the kindergarteners go on a field trip to the zoo. We didn't go with Megan, but I went with Kylie and Beth and was really looking forward to going with Jack. His field trip was today. Unfortunately, I spent last night and today sicker than I ever remember being except when I get strep throat. We think I had food poisoning because I was much sicker than Eva or Megan were last week and it lasted much longer. I started throwing up late last night and was up all night. Obviously, I was in no shape to go to the zoo. Rob even had to take the day off work because I couldn't even sit up.

Miss Jojo came to the rescue! She drove down and spent the day at the zoo with Jack :) She even sent up photos of their day!

Jack came home bursting with stories about his day. He's his version of the day -

First I petted a baby tiger. Next I got to walk a baby lion inside the zoo. The WHOLE time I was inside the zoo. The baby lion loved me. He licked me. So did the daddy lion.

We got blueberry and cherry shaved ice. I said thank you! And Miss Jojo asked if she could have some and I let her.

I saw a gorilla. I got to see a baby gorilla and pet him. Then I got to hold him the whole time I was at the zoo.

Miss Jojo bought me some birdseed so I could feed the birds.

My favorite part was when I got to walk the baby lion and the baby gorilla.

I think Miss Jojo's favorite part was when we got to feed the birds because we got to pet the birds too.

I got to ride the bus two times! It was super fun. I really liked when we went over bumps.

I would be interested to hear Miss Jojo's version of the day as I don't remember getting to pet lions and gorillas any time I've gone! She called and told me that they had a wonderful time. She originally tried to hook Jack up with some of his friends from school, but Jack thought they were going too slowly, so she and Jack took off on their own so they could move at a faster pace.

Thank you so much Jojo for saving the day and making Jack's day so awesome!
