Things have started getting busy again. I suppose with six kids and grad school, that is inevitable. Even with all the bustling about, I still get to spend some down time with Eva and Laura almost every day. Neither of them will take much of a nap unless I lay down with them. I love our nap times! I snapped a photo of the three of us just before we turned off the tablet and took our nap (Laura was already out) ~
The tablet is a huge hit! I barely get to use it at all though as the kids, especially Kylie and Eva, are always on it. It's been very helpful as I've been able to find apps that help with all sorts of stuff for the kids, like learning letters and numbers and colors. Today I let Eva take it to a doctor's appointment I had and it kept her quiet and happy for an hour! I walked into our bedroom the other day and found Rob on the laptop and Jack on the tablet. I think they might be related . . .
Did you know that if you put a scarf in your mouth and have your sister pull you around by your teeth, you can pull teeth (that are not loose) out. Thank you, Beth, for this valuable addition to our family's medical knowledge. She lost one tooth and loosened two others. Fortunately they were all baby teeth. She walked into my bedroom with her face covered in blood and a surprised look on her face. Seeing the look on MY face, she quickly assured me that it didn't hurt at all. That's my Beth; yank out teeth and she's fine, bump into her accidentally and she sobs for 10 minutes. Upon consideration, she is probably the most accident prone of all my children.
Laura is sitting up on her own now, although she's not completely steady yet. She is so happy to finally be able to do some of the things the other kids do! She still gets so frustrated that she can't crawl yet. She wiggles and squirms her way around, but can't quite direct herself. She usually ends up going backwards, which makes her even more mad. When she finally figures out how to go forward, we are in trouble! :)
Eva loves doing headstands. When she saw me taking pictures of Laura's new talents, she insisted on a photo of her favorite talent. One of her favorite places to do headstands is in the aisle at church while wearing a dress . . .
