Back to School

We have four kids in school this year! At least they are all in the same school :) Megan is in 5th grade, Kylie's in 3rd, Beth is in 1st, and Jack starts kindergarten this year! They all picked out their own outfits for the first day of school. I was worried that Laura would show up just before school started and that I wouldn't be there to see the kids off, but she surprised us all and stayed in.

Eva and I settled into being the only ones at home much more easily than I thought we would. Eva loves the one-on-one time and getting to cuddle. She and I take long naps after lunch, which have been wonderful :) We walk the kids to school each morning and walk to pick them up every afternoon. It is so odd to only have one child home most of the time! The last time that happened was before Kylie was born eight years ago.

We spent several hours on Thursday at the chiropractor. My chiropractor is also a doula. She did several adjustments to help labor get going and had me walk between adjustments to make sure everything stayed where it was supposed to. Eva loved the office - it is very child friendly and even has a play room in the waiting area. Eva found three dolls and carried them around the office with her, shushing them and patting them.

Friday, Eva, Betsy, and I headed to the mall. I wanted to walk for a while, but it was too hot to walk outside. We bought Eva new flip-flops and a small stuffed penguin she fell in love with, then had lunch at the food court. Eva got to ride on a little merry-go-round and we finished up by buying gelatos.
