Today is my birthday and also Christy's birthday!!! I turned 30, she turned 27 :) Rob took the whole day off work and gave me a day off. Christy took the day off work and the two of us went out shopping at NY&Co, then to Olive Garden for lunch, then dropped by Fidelity to pick up a yummy red velvet cake that a good friend of Christy's made for her, then went and got pedicures. Afterwards we went to her house and I unpacked her kitchen stuff while she helped the Verizon guys install her cable, internet and phone. Once they were done, she left to go run (she's training for a marathon) and I drove home to feed the kids and send Rob to boxing since he gave it up on Tues night this week to help me out and he gave me the whole day off, so I wanted to give him some time off too :) After Rob got home from boxing, we put the kids to bed and then I left to go help Christy move the rest of her stuff (except for a few big things) out of her apartment and into her house. This is why I haven't been home to talk to all of you who called to wish me a happy birthday, but Rob passed on the messages and I really appreciate your good wishes :) Thank you so much for thinking of me today! Thank you also to those who emailed or text messaged me and those who left messages for me on facebook and message boards!!!
I am excited to enter my 30's. I had a conversation with Molly a month or so ago where we were talking about me turning 30. I mentioned that I wasn't upset about it at all. She said something along the lines of "why would you be? You've done everything you wanted to do in your 20's." I've thought about that a lot and it's really true. I have been incredibly blessed with friends and family. I have a wonderful husband and 4 incredible kids. I've had the chance and the drive to finish my undergraduate degree and help/encourage Rob to get his and to work towards his MBA. Thank you to all of you for all the help you've given me along the way! I told Travis that my life lesson from this is that I will try to live my life so that I don't regret any of my birthdays :)
On that note, I'm going to hit the hay as we have a busy day tomorrow. Megan has field day, so we are headed out early to watch her for an hour before we go pick up Christy for her surgery (she's having a deviated septum fixed), then back to watch Meg again, then home to drop off the kids with Beca and Jorja (thank you Beca!!!), back to pick up Christy and take her home, then home to pick up Megs from school, then to the airport to pick up Kate (YAY!!!!). I hope you all have wonderful days tomorrow!
